How it works
The whole mechanism, in three steps

Someone holds one leaf
Each little arm ends in a smooth metal disc. One person holds one side — a hand on the disc is all it takes.

Someone else holds the other
A second person takes the other disc. Nothing happens yet. This is the bit children lean in for.

Now touch each other
Finger to finger, hand on a shoulder, a hug — the moment skin meets skin the fruit starts to play. Let go and it stops. Two people, six people, a whole circle holding hands: as long as the ring is closed, the music keeps going.

Nobody explains it well. Everybody shows it. That first attempt — one adult, one child, a finger halfway between them — is the reason this toy travels around a family in an afternoon.

The questions we actually get
No. Nothing is felt at all. The toy is only sensing that a loop has been closed between its two contacts — the same idea as a touch lamp. It runs on small batteries, never mains power.
Ages 3 and up. Younger children enjoy it in an adult's hands, but it holds a battery compartment, so it is not a toy to leave with a baby.
Surface-clean with a damp cloth only. There is electronics inside, so it does not go in the machine.
They behave identically — the difference is size and character. Apple is 26.5 × 10 × 22.5 cm and the roundest to hold, Orange is 26 × 11.5 × 24.5 cm, and Pear is 22 × 10 × 28 cm, taller and narrower for a smaller grip.
